The lamb died shortly after it was born in the village of Denizli, which is located in the Keban District of Elazig Province in east-central Turkey.

Images of the newborn, mutant animal show it lying on the ground shortly after its birth. It can be seen with its regular four legs, along with an additional four, which appear to be protruding from its abdomen, possibly indicating that its body absorbed part of twin a during the gestation.

The animal was reportedly alive when it was born, although it is currently unclear if it was conscious. It is unclear how long the animal remained alive for before it passed away.

Oezdemir, a livestock farmer, reportedly buried the little lamb after it died. He can be seen in the images handling the animal as it lies on the ground, moving its legs so that the camera can better capture the fact that it had eight of them.
