A 44-year-old politician has been killed in an avalanche during a ski-ing trip in Italy.
Simone Rossi was swept away by tonnes of snow as his party of six skiers was swept away by the avalanche on 10th March on Mount Saccarello, in the Italian Alps.
Rossi, who was unconscious when he was found, was declared dead on arrival after mountain rescue paramedics helicoptered him to Santa Corona hospital in Pietra Ligure.

Two others who were rescued from the avalanche were taken to hospital in Mondovi and are said to be recovering well from serious injuries.
The other three in the party, according to local media, raised the alarm.
Hiker Crushed Under Avalanche
The six had been hiking to the top of the 7,221-foot mountain on the Italian-French border when the avalanche struck, according to local media.
Rossi was a former councillor for the beachside city Alassio where he was in charge of sport and culture.
