Johnny Depp has been turned down for a table at a popular Budapest tapas bar that was recently also visited by Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Hollywood superstar wanted to get dinner at the restaurant in the Hungarian capital over the weekend, but the venue was hosting a wedding and there was no space for him.
The 59-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star had gone to the Arquitecto Pitpit tapas bar in the Palace District of Pest, but the venue was fully booked with nowhere for him to sit despite Benedict Cumberbatch having eaten there beforehand.
But this did not stop the star from posing for a picture with the staff, who readily shared it online, saying: “We had a pretty exciting week at the Pitpit: first, Benedict Cumberbatch had dinner with us, then Johnny Depp stopped by.
“He only came in because we couldn’t get him a seat – truth be told it was a wedding, but it’s still funny.”
And referencing the 1990 movie Cry-Baby that he starred in, they added: “Our policy is that we do not take photos with celebrities having fun at our place, but since the Cry-Baby did not eat or drink, we shot a photo with the team. You are welcome from tomorrow!”
It is currently unclear if Depp returned to the restaurant the following day.
