Injured Cat Sneaks Into Hospital ER For Treatment

Badly injured cat with a broken leg goes to a hospital emergency room for treatment.

Video footage shows the cat with its injured leg held up in pain as it hops into the Tatvan State Hospital Emergency Service in the eastern Turkish city of Tatvan in Bitlis province.

The video shows the cat sneaking along the wall when the security guard is not watching, then hiding in front of his desk where it can also not be seen.

It then remains there quietly waiting for the moment when the doors to the emergency ward are open and the coast is clear of people before making a dash inside, despite its injured leg.

A second video appears to show the cat hobbling around inside the emergency ward apparently looking for a doctor, before eventually finding one.

The cat ended up in the surgical intervention ward where it was spotted by nurse Abuzer Ozdemir who said he realised that the cat was in difficulty straightaway.

After checking and realising that the foot of the cat was broken, he arranged for it to be splinted and wrapped.

Abuzer told local media: “I can’t explain why he came here but we used to have a cat that we fed and I think you realise that as he was in pain, he might find a safe place here.

“The other cat was with us quite a while before it died and I think this one must have seen how we treated it, and realised there was compassion from the healthcare professionals.

“We even gave the new cat the same name as the old one, Davso, and said that after keeping it under observation they had allowed it to run again and continue to feed it and check up on it and change the bandages.”

He added: “I think the cat recognises that we are doing a good job, and we splinted it several times so far.”
