This is the moment a mother cat carried her newborn kitten into a hospital and it was found that they could not open their eyes due to an infection.
The footage shows the cat bringing one of two newborn kittens to a hospital in the district of Karabaglar in the western Turkish city of Izmir, in Izmir province.
Doctors and nurses, who noticed the infection in the kittens’ eyes, consulted with a veterinary clinic and made the first intervention.
Those who saw the cat carrying her kittens in her mouth filmed the sweet moment.
The first video shows the mother cat carrying one of her kittens inside the hospital as medics appear amazed.
The second video shows the two kittens sitting in a box while a health worker talks to them.
The third video shows a nurse putting eye drops into the kittens’ eyes one by one.
A health worker told local media: “We were giving food and water to the mother cat living on the street with other people living in this area. However, we did not know that she gave birth to kittens. As we began to receive patients in the morning, she showed up with her kittens. She asked for help, meowing for a long time. We were shocked. Upon careful examination, we saw that the kittens were not able to open their eyes due to infection.
“We consulted with veterinarians and gave medicine as described. When the kittens opened their eyes a short time later, we were thrilled.
“Later, we sent the mother cat and kittens to Uzundere for further care. This is the first time something like this has happened to us. We were emotional and delighted to see that they recovered well.”
