This is the moment an American dad is treated to a “New Orleans welcome” parade after spending 82 days in hospital battling COVID-19.
The incident was filmed in the city of New Orleans in the US state of Louisiana, and the footage was shared on Facebook by CBS News where it has been viewed 180,000 times.
CBS News said: “This father of two from Louisiana spent 82 days in the hospital battling coronavirus – and received a big New Orleans welcome when he went home.”
The footage was originally posted on Instagram by netizen ‘Hotboyronaldnola’ who wrote: “Welcome home Mike #f*ckcovid19.”
In the video, a jazzy brass band with accompanying dancers is seen coming down the road as the recovered C OVID-19 patient sits on a chair outside his house to watch.
He bops in his chair as the parade members dance and play jazz by his driveway.
At the end of the clip, he feels well enough to spring to his feet and shimmy to the New Orleans band playing outside his house.
In a second video, accompanied with the message “my brother been in the Hospital 82 days For coronavirus god is good”, a procession of cars is seen passing the patient’s house as the band plays.
