‘I Stepped on the Cat’ is the name of ‘Chopsticks’ in English and, similar to other songs like ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’, it is one that many beginners learn on the piano.

In the footage, the budding pianist is seen no more than a few notes into ‘Chopsticks’ before Mikasa the cat jumps on the keys.

The piano player starts again, but the moggy puts an end to the song even quicker this time.

The cat jumps on the keyboard a third time and even jabs a paw at its owner’s hand.

The moggy continues interrupting the song until the pianist giggles and gives up.

Netizens flooded the viral video’s comment section with comments such as “such great conflict”, “the piano player has fast reactions”, “it is definitely saying ‘cut it meowout’”, and “there is no excuse for its human servant to be playing such a disobedient song for their feline master”.
