Animal Rights Group Exposes Death Hennery

An animal rights NGO has exposed a poultry farm in an online video that shows flies buzzing around piles of dead hens and filthy, cramped conditions.

It is the second time that the NGO ‘Igualdad Animal’ (‘Animal Equality’) has investigated the hennery in the western Mexican state of Jalisco, which produces more eggs than any other state in the country.

The organisation compiled a report in 2016 about the terrible conditions the hens were living in but the local authorities failed to take any action, according to local media.

In the latest video narrated by Mexican actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez, featherless hens are seen trampling on the dead bodies of other chickens in the cramped cages.

Meanwhile, another scene shows hundreds of flies buzzing around a huge pile of dead chickens.

Executive director of Igualdad Animal in Mexico, Dulce Ramirez, said that an environment without cages is the first step to assuring that the animals do not suffer.

She explained that hens have complex emotions and are intelligent animals that do not deserve to live in prisons.

Netizen ‘Maritza Olivares’ commented: “I really do not understand it. So much suffering…”

‘Ilsa Lopez’ added: “This is so sad, such horror! The hens give us food and this is how we thank them.”
