Tiny Two-Day-Old Puppy Becomes Stiff As A Board After Feeding

A tiny, two-day-old puppy became stiff as a board after feeding.

The incident took place in Bozhou, in China’s Anhui, on 18th May, with the footage showing the tiny puppy rigid and not moving, reportedly after feeding from its mother.

The person filming takes the puppy and puts it on the ground, with the small animal apparently standing on all fours but it tilts over, bumping its nose on the floor.

A second piece of footage shows the person filming place in the puppy next to its mother, who gives it a lick, but the small animal remains unmoving.

The footage quickly made the rounds on Douyin, which is what TikTok is called in China, with local media saying that many netizens apparently found the images funny.

Local media said that the phenomenon is a rare occurrence that was caused by the puppy feeding for the first time, triggering blood to flow to different parts of its body and causing it to seize up.

The puppy reportedly survived and after being helped to breathe artificially, it was able to move its limbs again, although the owner said that the bizarre seizures take place on a daily basis.

Bizarrely, netizens appeared to find the situation funny, with one saying: “Why do you make me laugh and feel guilty at the same time?”

And another said: “The moment he stood there with his mouth on the ground was so funny.”

One netizen said that it could be an allergy to breastmilk, saying: “Breast milk allergy was the same as when I was a child. I ate a lot and slept for more than 20 hours. Later I found out that I was allergic to breast milk.”

Local media said that it could also be due to the incomplete development of the puppy’s nervous system or digestive system, and recommended that the owner take it to a vet.
