This is the UF-Woah moment a mysterious pillar of light appears in the skies above Vietnam just like a scene from the hit video game Halo.
Spooky images of the light show in the capital Hanoi on 19th May could have come straight from the game about space marines’ terrifying encounters with aliens.
Footage of the light show quickly emerged online and images were even posted on Vietnam’s National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Facebook page.
Many social media users saw an eerie similarity to Halo.
One called ‘toomerboomer’ said: “Are you sure it’s Vietnam and not a Halo ring?”
While ‘m4m249saw’ said: “Vietnam is on Halo this is wonderful news, bad news for anyone wanting to invade because I’m sure they will win.”
And ‘atatassault47’ added: “When you first laid eyes on Halo, were you blinded by its Majesty?”
But the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting later gave a more down-to-earth reason for the night lights.
They said the phenomenon was likely to be a man-made optical effect.
