Police Kazakhstan are hunting an apparently drunk zoo visitor who clambered up a huge fence in order to jump on the back of a giraffe.
The animal had been standing close to the fence at the Shymkent Zoo in the city Shymkent in Kazakhstan.

It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country spread over 130 acres and has over 1500 animals, including a herd of giraffes.
The incident was filmed as the man had started to climb the fence, and the giraffe watches seemingly unconcerned as the man scrambles to the top of the fence, and then reaches up to stroke the animal’s neck.

When it remains in place, he then scrambles on to a wooden plank and then sets over the fence to land on the side of the giraffe, which then suddenly realises what is going on and walks away from the fence with the man on its back.
For a few seconds it does little as the man stroked its neck, but then suddenly spooks and dashes forward, throwing the man off its back.
In the last seconds of the footage, the giraffe is seen coming back and the scared man quickly scrambles back over the fence where he then escaped before he could be arrested.

Police confirmed they are trying to identify the man who faces arrest over the stunt. Local media said the man had been drunk at the time.
The zoo is one of the most respected in the country boasting professional care for the animals which includes 20 that are on the critically endangered ‘red list’.
