Daredevil Grins As He Climbs Up 210m French Skyscraper

This footage shows a daredevil grinning as he free climbs the 210-metre Tour Montparnasse in the French capital Paris.

It was filmed by a woman called Djena at the Tour Montparnasse in Paris and she told Newsflash that the incident “had all the people working in the tower talking!”

The man can be seen sporting a head camera and wearing shorts and climbing shoes as he scales the incredibly high building.

The stunt took place at around 9am on Thursday morning (9th July) and according to French newspaper Actu, the daredevil, who has not been named, was arrested after reaching the top of the building.

Netizens have shared images of the incident on social media.

In the video filmed by Djena, who declined to give her full name, people can be heard gasping as they watch the man scale past the floor they are on.

One person says: “He is crazy!”

Djena told Newsflash: “We had just arrived at work. I work at a start-up called Safety Line that takes care of the offices on the 44th floor of the Tour Montparnasse.”

She added: “This incident really had everyone in the tower talking!”

The man reportedly reached the top of the building to a round of applause, before promptly being arrested. He has not been named and it is unclear if he has been charged.

The Tour Montparnasse is a 210-metre (689-foot) office skyscraper located in Montparnasse in Paris.

Built between 1969 and 1973, it was France’s tallest skyscraper until 2011, when it was surpassed by the 231-metre (758-foot) Tour First.

It is the 14th tallest building in the European Union.

The Montparnasse Top of the City observatory reopened on 22nd June 2020 after being closed for more than two months during the country’s coronavirus lockdown.
