Cops And Firemen Fall Through Thin Ice Saving Kids

This is the moment firefighters and cops fall into the water one after the other as they try to make it over thin ice to save two children who fell into a frozen lake.

The terrifying ordeal happened at Yengisar Beihu Park in the city of Kashgar in China’s north-western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on 12th February.

The two children, who appear to be boys, had been playing on the frozen surface of the lake when they fell through the ice and plunged into the frozen water.

Local residents called for help and a crew of six firemen were dispatched to the scene as well as police.

The rescuers worked quickly to prevent the onset of hypothermia in the children but had to approach carefully on the fragile ice.

Footage of the dramatic rescue shows rescuers with safety ropes around their waists plucking the two boys from the water one after the other.

The kids, who were totally soaked, are then passed along the frozen lake to other rescuers waiting on the side.

Authorities say they took both children to hospital for treatment, but it is as yet unclear whether they suffered any serious injuries.

The fire service did not say whether the children’s guardians were around at the time of the accident.
