Cop Kocked Over While Clinging To Fleeing White Van

This is the moment a police officer clings to the side of a white van in a bid to stop the driver escaping before he is knocked to the ground the motor zooms off into the distance.

The incident took place in the district of Flores in the eastern Argentine capital Buenos Aires early in the morning when revellers were reportedly leaving the city’s nightspots.

According to local media, the chubby cop approached the driver of a white Citroen Berlingo who was playing his music at maximum volume.

However, the van driver stepped on the accelerator and the officer was dragged along the ground in front of a crowd of cheering onlookers, as seen in the video.

The clip shows the heavyset cop desperately clinging onto the vehicle’s wing mirror before falling to the ground.

As onlookers cheer and shout, the chubby officer picks up his truncheon and gingerly runs off in the direction of the fleeing van driver.

According to reports, the Citroen Berlingo was seen entering a nearby garage before the driver jumped in a taxi and left the scene.

A police team arrived at the garage and found the white van, which was confirmed to be the one involved in the incident with the officer.

The local authorities have seized the vehicle and requested copies of the CCTV footage in the garage to try to identify the van driver, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the heavyset officer was taken to the city’s General Hospital Parmenio Pinero Treble for treatment to an injury to his lower left leg and various cuts and scrapes, according to local media.
