This is the moment the Bogota Philharmonic Choir stream themselves belting out a synchronised salsa classic from their homes to cheer people up during coronavirus lockdown.
The impressive clip has been shared on the Instagram profile ‘Clasicas del Amor’ a show normally performed by the Bogota Philharmonic Choir throughout the year at the Skandia Auditorium in the Colombian capital Bogota.
The clip shows 20 singers from the Bogota Philarmonic Choir singing ‘Cali Pachanguero’ by the Colombian salsa music band Grupo Niche in their homes on an apparent video call the song.
The song is considered a national classic in Colombia and is about the city of Cali, seen by many as the worldwide home of salsa.
The show ‘Clasicas de Amor’ shared the clip along with the message: “Despite the isolation, if we work together we will get over this, let’s join our voices. Stay at home.”
Netizen ‘berluzas’ wrote: “Beautiful!”
And ‘fabmw_k13000r’ added: “Thank you so much! This is more than art this is love!”

The clip has been widely shared on social and local media. Colombia has reported 1,579 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 46 deaths and 88 people recovered, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.
