Chinese Authorities Spray Paint Trees Green But Claim Its Fertiliser

These images show the authorities in China apparently spray-painting trees green.

The footage, filmed in Dalian, a port city in Liaoning province, shows workers spraying green paint on yellow-green trees on 13th May.

The officials were widely mocked on social media after the images were shared online showing clearly what they were doing, despite denials from officials that it was just fertiliser being sprayed to prevent the leaves from dying.

The Landscaping Management Office of Dalian Urban Management Bureau told local media that the trees there were withered and yellow, and the workers were spraying foliar fertiliser on the diseased trees because of their colour.

They said that a component of the substance being sprayed with green but not because it was paint, they said it was actually a nutrient solution which can increase the photosynthesis of plants and promote chlorophyll synthesis.

Online commentators like ‘Upright Heart’ said: “Isn’t this foliar fertiliser a bit too powerful? Just spray it on and it will turn green? I have never seen such a heavily coloured fertiliser.”

And user ‘Unknown Person’ said: “Just go back after a while to see if the tree is dead.”

While the user ‘User 22mzuyd’ said: “They should say this is putting makeup on the tree.”
