USA Baby With Batman Birthmark Lands In Russia For Op

This adorable American baby born with a ‘Batman’ birthmark on her face has touched down in Russia ahead of surgery to remove the mark.

Luna Tavares Fenner was born in south Florida in the United States with a skin disorder called congenital melanocytic nevus. The condition has left her with a dark birthmark across her face which has seen dubbed the ‘Batman’ girl in international media.

After being by doctors in America told removing the mark would require a series of around 100 high-risk operations using lasers her parents were contacted by a Russian surgeon who had read about the case.

The surgeon works at the Krasnodar specialised clinic for laser photodynamic therapy and offered to perform pioneering treatment on the girl.

She has now touched down in Krasnodar and the clinic’s Executive Director told reporters: “This case is not the first for our clinic.

“Everyone who has been treated with such diseases has been 100 percent successful. Children and adults feel great. You can be treated in Russia. And not only Russian patients, but also foreign ones. We can say that Russia really has good doctors.”

Luna’s first operation at the clinic is scheduled for October 2019 and reports state she will undergo between six and eight operations which will reportedly cost around 25,000 USD (20,228 GBP) each.

The tot will reportedly live with her mother Carol Fenner, 35, in Russia for the next year-and-a-half. Her first meeting with the doctors is set to be scheduled for when she has acclimatised.

I wish the Russian surgeon Mr. Andrey Alexutkin the maximum inspiration and application of all 200% of his knowledge and God’s help.
