TV Presenter Goes On Air With Baby In Arms After There Was No One To Take Care Of It

A TV presenter in Mexico has been praised for going on the air with her baby in her arms after no one could take care of it.

Yazmin Novelo is a TV presenter for Channel 13 in Mexico’s Yucatan state, and she explained that her partner was ill and the babysitter was unavailable.

Her family does not live in the area, and she was still without a solution one hour before she was due to go on air.

So Novelo took her child to work and read out the news live on the air – in Mayan – with the baby in her arms.

The broadcast, which took place on Tuesday, 25th January, made headlines in local media reports yesterday (Thursday, 10th February) after catching the attention of netizens.

Novelo later took to social media to say: “Thanks to all my colleagues at the channel for giving me a hand and accompanying me. I am proud to belong to a company that helps to build a more inclusive society with women, and is not all talk.”

Novelo has been widely praised by on social media, as has the TV channel. Netizens said it was wonderful that the television company had been accommodating.

They also praised the presenter for her professionalism and called on companies to do more to be more inclusive towards women and working mothers.
