Moment Man Catches Kid Thrown From Burning Flat

This is the dramatic moment a newspaper delivery man in the street catches a child that has been thrown from a blazing top-floor window by its parents.

The incident took place in the northern Turkish province of Tokat when Remzi Ozyurt, 35, was delivering papers in the early hours of the morning.

According to local media, Ozyurt noticed flames and thick smoke coming from a two-storey property owned by an Afghan family.

The delivery man then started frantically ringing the doorbell to wake those inside, and he also called the fire brigade.

But the family were trapped on the top floor of the two-storey building as smoke billowed out from the window behind them and the flames spread.

In desperation, the parents Mohammed Norazi and his wife is Remziye Norazi indicated that they were going to throw the children down to him and Ozyurt then managed to catch seven-year-old Mukaddese and five-year-old Umit when they were dropped from a window of the blazing building.

The plucky delivery man told local media that he saw the fire “engulfing the building” and that the family “threw the children down one by one”.

Ozyurt reportedly caught both youngsters and took them to a neighbour’s house across the road. CCTV footage has even been released that shows him miraculously catching one of the children.

According to local media, fire-fighters then rescued the parents Muhammed and Merziye Norazi, whose ages are not known, from the blazing house.

The emergency services battled the fire for over one hour while the family was rushed to a nearby hospital for checks.

Medics say that the parents were treated for smoke inhalation but were released the next day, while the children were unhurt.
