Man Throttles, Punches And Kicks Child In Lift Attack

This shocking video shows a grinning man throttling, punching and kicking a child he is left alone with in a lift before casually walking away as the doors open.

The unexpected attack is said to have taken place in the Xicheng Shanshuiju Residential District in Hefei, which is the capital of Anhui Province in East China.

The security footage dated 11th September shows the as yet unidentified suspect – last seen wearing a white T-shirt and shorts – exchanging words with the boy, who neighbours said was between the age of eight and nine.

In the video, the suspect is seen suddenly lunging at the boy, throttling him with his left hand while punching the child in the head with his right fist.

The man assaulting the boy in the lift

He hits the boy nine times in just five seconds before kicking the child in the midriff as he tries to shield his head.

The man presses a button to open the lift doors, but he punches the boy six more times before casually leaving.

The boy, who is not thought to have been seriously injured, lives in the residential complex with his family.

The suspect

It is unclear, however, whether the suspect is a neighbour or was only visiting the residential area.

A security guard told local media: “We’re furious! He beat up the kid, opened the door and left.”

Hefei police are aware of the incident and searching for the suspect, but the assailant is still at large, reports said.
