Steadfast duck waddling on a frozen pond with its webbed feet slipping and sliding with each determined step.
Filmed in the city of Weihai, in China’s eastern province of Shandong, the smartphone footage showcased the feathered creature’s humorous attempts to maintain balance on the icy surface on 5th February.
Undeterred by the challenge, the resilient bird can be seen persisting on its way forward, seemingly driven by the desire to reach the rest of its flock.
Just inches away, another duck can be seen taking minor steps and gracefully navigating on the frozen pond, in contrast to the comic struggles of its counterpart.
The clip became a massive hit after it was shared on China’s version of TikTok, Douyin, later that day, reaching more than 380,000 likes and over 581,000 shares.
Douyin user ‘Xiaowei!’ said: “So the question is, why are the other ducks doing okay?”

Then user ‘ZLS’ commented: “Doesn’t it feel cold walking on the ice without wearing leather shoes?”
And ‘Dajiuma’ added: “It will probably be on the dinner table tomorrow.”
