Heros Welcome For Cancer-Beating 5yo Schoolboy

This is the moment a five-year-old schoolboy receives a hero’s welcome from classmates after beating cancer.

Upon his return to the Edmondo De Amicis School in the city of Rosario in the central Argentine province of Santa Fe after several months away, little Rocco Ramacciotti was welcomed like a hero by teachers and schoolmates.

The brave five-year-old was diagnosed with cancer when he was four years old before undergoing surgery to remove a tumour as well as chemotherapy sessions, missing several months of school in the process.

During that time, his family raised money to pay for treatment at several centres in Rosario through campaigns, and little Rocco began to feel better in September last year when he no longer needed a breathing machine.

Rocco is an avid fan of Lionel Messi’s former team Newell’s Old Boys and he received messages of support from players such as Maxi Rodriguez and Diego Mateo as well as the manager Gerardo Martino.

The boy was even invited to the stadium to meet the first team squad and club officials.

Rocco’s grandfather Anibal Tamburri said: “We are all very happy although we know we have to keep going and continue to support him like we do now.”

In the video, the brave youngster is seen being welcomed and cheered by classmates, parents and teachers.
