Drug Cartel Gives El Chapo Branded Toys As Christmas Gifts To Children

A drug cartel once operated by notorious cocaine king El Chapo has given away hundreds of Christmas toys to children branded with their crime gang’s trademark.

Photographs of the bizarre presents show toys branded with the Mexican cartel’s ‘JGL’ logo piled up outside a hospital under a poster of Santa.

Other pictures from inside a clinic show what appear to be white-coated medics holding some of the toys.

Another picture shows one present propped up on a chair beside a child’s hospital bed.

The pictures emerged as around 800 toys were distributed in Navolato and Culiacan on 14th December, the Sinaloa Cartel’s stronghold.

Local media reports say several vans brought the gifts and were all branded with a black tag with the initials ‘JGL’ in gold.

The initials stand for Joaquin Guzman Loera, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most notorious and powerful drug syndicates in the world.

Although it has not been confirmed who carried out the delivery. Local media say that it was a Sinaloa Cartel faction now controlled by El Chapo’s sons, the so-called ‘Chapitos’.

But some social media users were outraged by the gifts.

One quote in local media said: “If people could see beyond the short-term benefits, they would not continue allowing themselves to be lined up for toys or groceries.”

And another added: “Today they give them toys and tomorrow they give them weapons.”
