Dog Frodo Catches Three Burglars

A little dog called Frodo has been hailed a hero by Dutch police after his actions led to the arrest of three burglars.

The incident was reported in the city of Harderwijk, in the municipality of the same name in the central Netherlands.

The local police department shared the story on their Instagram page with a photo of one of the officers holding the West Highland white terrier.

The post said: “Not only in the movie @lordoftherings_official, little Frodo was brave, but also in real life.

“We received a report of his stealth on the #Johanniterlaan in #Harderwijk. The owner was asleep when she suddenly woke up to growls from her #westhighlandwhiteterrier Frodo.

“This was not normal behaviour and she decided to check downstairs. She soon found out that someone had been in her house and stolen her bag. That bag contained, among other things, bank cards, car keys, but more importantly, belongings of the loved ones who had died.”

The police post continues to say that the burgled lady immediately called police who quickly closed in on three suspects in the area.

They said: “There were enough facts and circumstances against all three for them to be considered suspects and they were therefore arrested. Almost all of the stolen items have been found.

“There is a lot of work done by many colleagues. 29 official reports have already been drawn up. (In common language: a lot of paperwork) But this is what we do it for. Butter with the fish. All goods can go back to the declarant and three crooks are stuck.”

The police post also confirmed that the suspects will talk before the public ministry who will decide their fate.

The post received hundreds of likes and admiring comments from social media uses, such as ‘annettedeweerdt’ who wrote: “Woow, well done !!. A real hunting dog.”
