Bomb Squad Called After Police Find Unexploded Tank Grenade In Arrested Red Army Faction Terrorist Klette’s House

The bomb squad was called after the police found an unexploded ‘tank grenade’ in the house of arrested Red Army Faction terrorist Daniela Klette, who was detained on Monday after 30 years on the run.

The 65-year-old woman, who was wanted for attempted murder and a string of robberies. Was arrested in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg, according to local media.

And now it has emerged that the flat where she was hiding was evacuated after the police found the explosive device, described in local media as a ‘tank grenade’ and firearms in the building.

Local residents were asked to leave the building with their pets immediately, with investigators removing the explosive and diffusing it late on the evening of 28th February.

The police said they also found pistol ammunition in the flat.

Other items still need to be examined, the police said, with residents forced to spend the night elsewhere and only able to return to their homes the following morning.

Local media speculated that the ‘tank grenade’ (“Panzergranate”) might have been part of a bazooka that the terrorists and two accomplices allegedly used to attack a cash-in-transit truck in Cremlingen, Lower Saxony, in 2019.

German media also said that they had been armed with a bazooka and a Kalashnikov assault rifle during an attempted robbery at a supermarket in Lower Saxony in 2015. Spectating the weapons probably came from an old Red Army Faction depot.

Klette is allegedly part of the far-left terrorist organisation that terrorised Germany for decades.

Law enforcement verified her identity through fingerprint analysis. She cooperated fully during her arrest, according to reports.
