Big Cat Takes Nap On Village Wall

Tiger shows she is just one big pussycat as she stretches out in the sun on a wall in northern India for a snooze.

Her visit, from a nearby wildlife reserve, astonished nervous locals, who turned out in their dozens to watch the tigress in Atkona village, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, on Christmas Day, 25th December.

But the big cat seems completely unworried by her audience as she yawns and settles down for a sleep with one massive paw dangling down the wall.

A makeshift netting barrier had been thrown up around the wall, not to keep the tiger out but to stop villagers from getting too close, according to local media.

Within moments, the tigress seems so fast sleep that it seems impossible to wake her up despite the loud crowd.

Local media said she spent 10 hours napping on the wall before wildlife experts tranquilised her and took her back to her reserve today, on 26th December.

Expert vet Daksh Gangwar from the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is reportedly evaluating the animal’s condition.

Locals have accused the forest department of negligence, according to local media.
