Baby Jesus Found Abandoned Under Car

A baby called Jesus has been found abandoned in a bag under a car with a note asking people to take care of him.

The tot was found by a local and handed over to the police in the city of Lomas de Zamora, in Buenos Aires province, in Argentina, on Saturday, 10th September.

The passerby has been named as Belen Gutierrez, a young mother who was on her way to market.

She told local media: “I was going to the market, which is every Saturday, and a lady came up and told me: ‘there’s a baby crying’, but she was afraid to grab it. So I went over and picked it up.”

The baby, who has been named as Jesus, stopped crying after she picked him up, according to local media, with the young mum then asking that someone call the police.

Belen’s friend Antonella, who is the mum of a one-year-old girl, breastfed the tot while they waiting for the cops to arrive.

The note that accompanied the tot read: “His name is Jesus. His mother could not bear the birth and died. His father abandoned him as soon as he was on his way. Please take good care of him, I’m just from the street and I have nothing for him. I don’t want him to be hungry like me or cold. He was born on 8th September at 04:30 am. Take good care of him, please.”

The baby was taken to hospital after the arrival of the police, where it was determined that it was not 48 hours old but 10 days old. The police are currently investigating the incident.
