Woman Chokes 117yo Relative To Death To Grab His Land

This 40-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly choking her 117-year-old great uncle to death in order to inherit his land after she became tired of waiting for him to die.

The State Attorney General’s Office reported suspect Veronica Garcia Tolentino was arrested in the town of Minatitlan in the state of Veracruz in south-eastern Mexico was arrested after local authorities were able to find evidence to accuse her of the murder.

Local media report Tolentino and her husband, who has not been named in reports, had been waiting for her great uncle, who has not been named either, to die in order to inherit his 20 hectares of land.

The great uncle was 117 years old according to several residents in the town but there was no official record of his age as he had never registered in the civil registry.

Local media report she allegedly planned to kill her relative in June 2018 because he was still healthy.

According to the official investigation, a forensic exam revealed a stick had been put through the victim’s throat before he was choked to death.

According to neighbours and other relatives, the suspect and her accomplice were seen running out of the house after allegedly killing the old man.

She is in police custody. The State Attorney General’s Office have pressed homicide charges against her. It is unknown if her husband has been arrested and when the trial will begin.
