“I don’t care if you are a queer.”

When the gay man points out that it is “Gay Pride Day”, the aggressor replies: “I don’t care what day it is, it is also a good day to punch you. Do you want to see?”

The thug also says: “I am going to beat you till you become heterosexual.”

Later, he threatens: “When you go out, I am going to hit you so hard your queerness will disappear.”

According to local media, the police arrived at the restaurant shortly afterwards but the victim refused to press charges against the man.

Meanwhile, the McDonald’s restaurant condemned the aggression and pointed out that the security staff called the police.

The viral incident also provoked an angry response from the Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau and Albert Rivera, leader of the Spanish political party ‘Ciudadanos’.

After raising the rainbow flag outside the city hall, Colau declared: “Homophobes are not welcome in our city, we will work side by side with LGTBI groups and we will not tolerate any discrimination.”
