A German tourist has reportedly been raped in the toilets of a nightclub in the popular Playa de Palma area of tourist hotspot Majorca.
According to local media, the victim is a young woman of German origin who was allegedly raped in a nightclub on the street Calle del Jamon in the s’Arenal neighbourhood of the Playa de Palma area on the Spanish Balearic Island of Majorca while she was partying with friends.
The girl’s friends reportedly called the emergency services at 1:45 a.m. saying the girl had been raped in the bathroom of the unnamed establishment in Playa de Palma.
Reports state an ambulance immediately went to the scene to help the young woman who was visibly affected and crying before later being transferred to the hospital.
The Local Police of Palma reportedly arrived shortly after and sealed off the scene to avoid contamination of the evidence.
The National Police confirmed to Central European News (CEN) that they had questioned people at the scene and they had launched an investigation but they are “still waiting for the girl to file a complaint and testify at the police station” to attain more information to help find the aggressor.
Reports state there are some cameras at the exit of the bathrooms that could help to find the aggressor who is believed to be a German man between 30 and 40 years old.
