A 16-year-old girl has had her throat slashed with a razor allegedly during a satanic ritual carried out by her boyfriend and a pal so they could acquire supernatural powers from the Devil.
The shocking incident took place behind a convent on Jerusalen Hill in the district of Santa Rosa de Ocopa in the municipality of Huancayo located in the central Peruvian region of Junin.
The young victim, identified with her initials M.R.V.H., left home to meet with her 16-year-old boyfriend at 5.30pm and her mother called the authorities when she failed to return by 10pm.
According to local media, the mother found the teen’s phone and saw messages from her boyfriend asking her to come and see “something supernatural”, and asking her to delete the messages.
Police also inspected the victim’s phone and reportedly found a reference to a satanic ritual.
Officers waited for the boyfriend’s friend outside his school and asked to see his phone.
Reports said that at that very moment, a 16-year-old boyfriend sent his friend a message saying: “I have heard that the police are looking for you. Do they already know that I killed her?”
The two teenagers have been identified as 17-year-old F.D.T. and 16-year-old A.G.G, her boyfriend.
Both suspects were arrested and the 16-year-old confessed to killing the girl because the Devil asked them to take a human life in exchange for supernatural powers, according to local media.
Reports also said that the victim had over 10 cut marks on her neck and a deformed face due to being hit with a rock while trying to escape.
According to local media, the teens were under the influence of hallucinogens when they allegedly killed the girl.
The 16-year-old suspect reportedly showed the police where the girl’s body was hidden.
He allegedly told the cops: “The Devil asked me for a human sacrifice so I cut her throat with a razor.”
A police spokesperson told local media: “The girl had 10 cuts to her neck and her face was disfigured with a 10-kilogramme (22-lb) rock that was left beside the body.”
The investigation is ongoing.
