Sports Day Cameraman Outruns All 100m Dash Sprinters

This is the moment a speedy cameraman filming a track and field event outruns all the participants of a 100-metre dash.

The amusing clip was filmed from a grandstand at Datong University in China’s northern Shanxi Province, where the school held its 30th annual athletics meet.

Video from the men’s 100-metre dash event shows the man holding a stabilised camera while sprinting along the outside of running track, following all of the runners while embarrassingly outstripping them at the same time.

Proving once and for all that the university did not need to replace his role with a camera rig.

A Datong University student, who did not give her name, said: “During our university sports meet, we had cheerleading performances in the morning and the track competitions in the afternoon.

“During the race, there was a cameraman who joined the runners about halfway and began filming them.

“I think he outran all of them in the end.”

Social media users, who have commented on the video in their hundreds, have pointed out that the cameraman only joined the race halfway and started ahead of the pack.

However, eagle-eyed viewers noted the cameraman was able to cross the finish line first by a much larger distance than had previously been between him and the frontmost runner.

‘Tongkui Yao Yuanqi Manman’ commented: “And he’s holding a camera!”

‘Lishi Zhishi Bot’ said: “A true champion.”
