A tiny piglet born with a face so deformed it has been described as an alien has baffled farmers and locals who have flocked to see the bizarre-looking newborn.
The piglet was reportedly born in a rural area in ​​Sena Madureira, a municipality located in the state of Acre in Brazil, on Tuesday, 18th June.
Its owner, identified only by the nickname Jurita, was shocked at the sight of the extremely disfigured baby pig.
Stunned residents said although they have seen rare cases of calves being born with some abnormality in their small community of Sao Caetano, they have never seen an animal like Jurita’s.
Many gathered at the property to witness the piglet, which miraculously has survived so far despite having a face so deformed one cannot tell its nose from its mouth.
It also appears to have been born without eyes and part of its flesh exposed with no skin.
Although the animal lives, its physical condition raises concerns about its future well-being.
One local, who was not named, said to local media: “It is a very unusual situation. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Jurita is currently considering whether to euthanise the piglet and spare it a life of difficulties given the complexity of its genetic condition, local media reports.
Meanwhile, more residents continue visiting the farm to lay eyes on the unique creature, reports added.
