Giant panda covers herself with a warm blanket as she is apparently preparing for a good night’s sleep.
The panda’s nighttime routine was captured at her enclosure in Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost province.
Phone footage shows the black-and-white bear, named Sijia, lying down on her back and even resting her head on a raised part of the floor as if she is using a pillow.
Then, as she tucks herself in, she pulls up a colourful knitted blanket and covers herself all the way to her head, apparently trying to keep warm while dozing off.
The video – shared later on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok – attracted widespread attention, with many netizens almost in disbelief at the way Sijia was readying for bedtime.
One user titled ‘little girl’ said in a comment: “Even Sijia also knows how cute she is under the covers.”
Since birth, Sijia has won the hearts of countless netizens with her innocent antics, and as time passed she gained even more popularity.
Sijia and her twin brother, Taotao, were born on 12th August, 2006, at the Walnut Training Base of the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda.
From a young age, Sijia has charmed many netizens with her round face, smiling mouth, and adorable ears, earning her the nickname “Smiling Princess”.
