This rare and beautiful sunset that made the clouds look like a colourful mushroom turned upside down has captivated social media users who deemed it a sign of good luck and fortune.
The picturesque scene was reportedly captured just above the region of Xishuangbanna, in south-western China’s Yunnan Province.
At a first glance, the video seems to show an ordinary twilight settling among the residential area.
But, as the cameraperson zooms in, it then reveals a stunning pair of clouds that seem like an inverted mushroom cap, with an orange cap and a reddish underside, peeking through a darkening sky.
The person who shot the video, who was not named in local media, said: “I’ve been in Yunnan for ten years. The first time I looked up, my heart was overwhelmed by its beauty. Hahaha.”
The clip went viral on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, gaining more than 215,000 likes and over 30,000 comments, with many users saying it may be a sign of good things to come.
One user titled ‘7Skksi’ commented: “Good luck to you, may your family be healthy, and all your wishes may come true.”
Another user titled ‘fog’ wrote: “I don’t know why when I saw this video, I suddenly felt that my future would be very bright. The previous darkness will be over. I just have to work hard.”
And user ‘Anhui Liu Yifei’ said: “Is the sky in Yunnan always so beautiful?”
