This mum nearly had a heart attack when her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter surprised her with a live mouse that she apparently thought was a plaything.
Shocked Mrs Cao filmed the moment her toddler presented her with the ‘gift’ at their home in Sanmenxia, in China’s north-central Henan Province.
Phone footage, shared on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, shows the horrified and speechless mum jumping up and down in place while her daughter tries to hand her the small rodents.
She grabbed the toddler by her arm and shook it until the girl dropped the creature to the ground, seemingly confused as to why her mum was grossed out.
Mrs Cao explained that her daughter has lately become very mischievous.
Mum had no idea where her daughter found the mouse and was completely stunned when she saw it.
She said she washed her hands 20 to 30 times but still could not shake the feeling of disgust.
She also gave her child a bath.
Mrs Cao added that she is especially afraid of mice, and her scalp tingled when she saw it.
In the end, it was her grandfather who came and disposed of the mouse.
