A young mum has demanded justice after her three-year-old daughter was hospitalised with serious mouth injuries following an alleged incident at her nursery.
The alleged incident took place at the Jaime Torres Bodet Nursery in the city of Ciudad Victoria in the eastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas when the tot was allegedly involved in a collision with another child, although mother Guadalupe Mendoza suspects something else happened due to the extent of her daughter’s injuries.
When Mendoza went to pick up her daughter Jade, nursery staff told her that the girl’s facial injuries were the result of a clash with a classmate, according to reports.
However, Mendoza said she was stunned when she saw how swollen the girl’s lips were as well as the heavy bruising on her left cheek.
The mother took Jade home, but the pain and swelling did not go away and Mendoza took her to hospital where she spent the next three days.
According to local media, Mendoza no longer believes that the injuries were caused by a classmate and she has filed a complaint against the nursery.
The angry mum also shared photos of little Jade’s injuries on social media.
The state’s education authority has confirmed that an incident took place at the nursery and an investigation has been opened.
Spokeswoman Magdalena Moreno Ortiz said that the girl’s medical report did not indicate fractures or serious injuries.
The investigation continues.
