This is the moment several cows happily munch on supermarket goods after stampeding into the store for a slap-up feast as stunned shoppers look on.
The incident took place in a Fusion supermarket in Mui Wo, a rural town on the eastern coast of Lantau Island in the south-eastern Chinese territory of Hong Kong.
The video was filmed by a stunned shopper and posted online where it has been widely shared.
In the clip, one cow is seen nosing around a refrigerated section as two others tuck into the fruit and veg stalls.
According to local media, the incident took place at around 8pm and supermarket staff eventually managed to herd the chomping cows out of the store.
A local resident claimed that three cows were waiting at the supermarket entrance at 10.30pm while it was closed, hoping to continue their banquet.
District Councillor Andy Wong Man-hon told local media that the area is home to around 30 wild cows and 40 buffaloes.
According to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, there are around 1,100 wild cows and 120 wild buffaloes in Hong Kong’s country parks.
Meanwhile, a Fusion supermarket spokesperson told local media that staff members threw out the products where the cows had been eating and thoroughly cleaned the affected areas.
