This is the bizarre moment hundreds of sheep amble along the hard shoulder and first lane of a busy motorway in Romania accompanied by several shepherds and a couple of donkeys.
The incident was filmed on the motorway linking the Romanian city of Constanta with the county’s capital Bucharest and the footage was shared on Facebook where it has been viewed 182,000 times.
In the video, a disgruntled motorist films the scene as he slowly overtakes a long line of hundreds of sheep and shouts out of his window at one of the shepherds.

According to local media, the incident, which took place on 28th January, has been investigated by the police who quickly identified and sanctioned the owners.
A police statement said: “On 28th January 2020 at 7.30am, the police department received a call that a sheep herd was walking along a motorway bridge on the Bucharest-Constanta route.
“When officers arrived on the scene, a 50-year-old man identified as village resident Seimenii Mici was fined 4,350 RON (770 GBP).”
Many netizens accused the shepherds of endangering motorists’ lives while others defended them for just doing their job.
‘NetteMatey’ wrote: “I very much respect the shepherds for all the hard work they do, but it is inexcusable to walk with the sheep on a motorway in 2020.”
‘SorinPaun54’ said: “Leave them alone and let them do what they need to do otherwise you won’t have anything to eat at Easter time.”
