Missing Dog Found On Grave Of Deceased Owner

This dog has amazed relatives of his former owner after constantly escaping from his home and travelling 2 km to visit the grave of his former owner who passed away.

The former owner of the half-breed dog named Fulmine passed away and was buried in the cemetery of the town of Badesi in the Italian province of Sassari.

After his departure, the faithful dog escaped its enclosure and disappeared without a trace only to be found guarding the grave of his owner named Leonardo with nobody having any idea how the dog found it.

Leonardo’s daughter named Sara went to the cemetery to arrange flowers on her father’s grave and was amazed when she spotted Fulmine, which means lightning, sitting in front of its owner’s grave.

Sara said: “At first I didn’t believe it. How could he have found my dad’s cemetery and grave?”

The dog’s enclosure is two kilometres away from the Badesi cemetery and no one could explain how it had managed to reach it.

Fulmine used to escape from an opening in its enclosure in the past but only to go and play with the neighbour’s dog.

Locals reported seeing the dog on several occasions in the cemetery and Sara is convinced that Fulmine goes there every day to greet its owner.

The former owner Leonardo had adopted Fulmine when the pup was only two and a half months old and they were inseparable for seven years until the tragedy occurred.

The man took good care of his faithful four-legged companion and had built him an improvised dog playground with many games in the countryside where Fulmine lived.

Last December Leonardo fell ill and sadly passed away after two months of hospitalization on 22th February.

Since its owner died, the dog was reportedly always sad and barely ate any food so Sara has decided to take Fulmine home with her to comfort the grieving animal, after was he escaped and made his way to the grave.
