Man On Exploding Speedboat Survives

This is the moment a boat with a man inside explodes in a ball of flame while it is just inches away from the shore in Russian resort Sochi and he survives.

The dramatic incident took place on a pebbled beach of the Adler district in the city of Sochi in south-western Russia.

Footage made on a security camera shows a small boat moving in reverse towards the shore.

Although not seen in the video local media said the boat struck an obstruction with its tail, which led to a spectacular explosion.

The video shows that the man inside the boat sent flying with the debris into the air watched by shocked onlookers. The beachgoers are then seen running towards the place of accident in an attempt to help the man that was thrown out of the boat.

Russian media report that the man was unharmed as the floor of the boat protected him from the full force of the blast that originated in the engine and fuel tank.

Members of the local rescue service got to the place of accident on Imeretinskaya street within a few minutes of the explosion happening.

Cops are currently investigating the possible cause of explosion, but they have confirmed that nobody was injured.

The resort city of Sochi is located on the Black Sea coast and hosted 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

The resort has always been a favourite spot of Russian leaders, with Josef Stalin having his famous residency there.
