Man Feeds Hungry Wolf On Remote Road

Man comes across a wild wolf on a road in an isolated region and feeds it bread while telling it to keep its distance and the animal apparently understands him and complies.

The incident is understood to have occurred recently in the Xinjiang autonomous region in China.

The wild wolf was encountered by a family travelling through an unpopulated area.

The husband is seen hurling pieces of bread at the wolf, which eats them while he tells it: “Don’t come over.”

The wolf apparently understood and waited obediently from a distance before quickly eating the bread.

The man said he was scared to death when the wild wolf came up to their car. He said he had a dog in the car that kept barking at the wolf, adding to the thrill of the encounter.

The wolf’s apparent understanding of the man’s commands quickly drew online attention after footage of their peaceful interaction was shared on social media on 28th June.

Online commentators like ‘L’ said: “This wolf is very intelligent, knows its boundaries and guards them, and interacts with people without losing its wild beauty. When feeding it, you must be careful.”

And user ‘Not White Bai Xiaobai’ said: “Wolves are so smart.”

While the user ‘Cricetinae Bs’ said: “The wolf wags its tail, it won’t hurt you, it’s a gesture of friendship.”

Previously, another lone wolf had been filmed patiently waiting by the roadside for motorists to pass by and hopefully toss it something to eat instead of hunting for its meal.

Incredibly, the wolf, recorded in Qinghai Province in October, had even learnt to wag its tail like a puppy to beg for food.

Many passersby took pity on it and gave it food whenever they saw it, which in turn even made it eventually gain some weight.

The odd trend worried Qi Xinzhang, Deputy Director of Xining Wildlife Park and Deputy Director of Qinghai Wildlife Rescue and Breeding Centre.

He previously emphasised that feeding should not be done casually, adding: “I want to believe in the kindness of those who feed the animals, but kindness needs rational support; otherwise, good intentions might lead to bad outcomes.”
