This is the moment a lorry driver stops to give water to a cute little anteater on a hot summer’s day before it rolls over on its back in anticipation of a refreshing shower.
The adorable little fellow was a southern tamandua (Tamandua tetradactyla), also called the collared anteater or lesser anteater, which is a species of anteater from South America.
The incident took place in the central-eastern Colombian department of Casanare during a hot summer’s day of around 28 degrees Celsius.

The unnamed lorry driver stopped his vehicle to help the anteater on the roadside and he filmed the cute chap standing on its feet in anticipation of a drink of water.
The adorable anteater even rolls over so the lorry driver can pour cool water all over its body.
The man says: “Look at him, he’s waiting for a shower, look he wants me to pour water.”
Before leaving the scene and jumping back in his lorry, he says: “It’s so hot, so hot.”
Netizen ‘Gersain Oropeza’ commented: “This what everyone should do for our animals.”
‘Didier Castro Arango’ said: “There should be more people like you and not like others who run animals over. Thanks for taking care of our nature.”
‘Beyer Arvey Betancourt’ wrote: “A great example of how we can help nature.”
