Founder Of Mexican Petro-Theft Cartel Arrested

This is the moment the founder of one of Mexico’s largest petro-theft cartels is arrested by heavily armed cops.

Fabian, alias La Vieja, was one of the founders of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel and is reportedly the right-hand man of the current leader, Jose Yepez Ortiz, alias El Marro.

He was arrested in Rosarito, in the northwestern Mexican state of Baja California, along with another 14 alleged members of the criminal organisation, local media reported.

The cartel work in the trafficking of stolen petrol as well as narcotics and reports state an unspecified amount of methamphetamine was seized during the police operation.

Fabian, no surname provided, is said to have founded the cartel with his brother Noe, alias El Puma and current leader Ortiz in 2017 as a splinter from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

He was taken to the facilities of the Air Force of Mexico before being taken to the prison of Altiplano, in Mexico State, central Mexico.

The cartel works in the so-called Red Triangle area of Mexico where large amounts of stolen petrol are trafficked.

The Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel is reportedly fighting a bloody war in the Red Triangle with the CJNG.
