These images show a seagull left dangling from a utility pole in Florida after it became tangled in string as it is rescued by firefighters.
Rescuers can be seen scaling a ladder extended from a fire truck in order to reach the seagull and free it from the string.
The rescue operation went well, and an official can then be seen carrying the weakened bird away.

Newsflash obtained a statement from the St. Lucie County Fire District on Tuesday, 17th January saying: “On Thursday [12th January] after several callers reported a seagull hanging from a pole on South Beach, station 2 responded and rescued the nearly listless bird.”
South Beach is located in Fort Pierce, in St. Lucie County, in the US state of Florida.
The first responders added: “Animal control took the bird, and as stated by a concerned citizen, ‘We hope he’ll be flying again soon!'”
It is currently unclear if the seagull was injured and how long it will take for it to be well enough to be released back into the wild.
