This is the heartbreaking moment a loyal dog refuses to leave its owner’s coffin as they’re laid out after dying hours earlier and an onlooker spots a tear in the pooch’s eye.
The touching scene was reportedly filmed by the dead dog owner’s relatives in the Peruvian capital of Lima after he died the night before.
In the video, the dog can be seen with its paws on its master’s white coffin as an unnamed woman behind it tries to move it away.
The dog does not want to leave its owner’s coffin and keeps its paws on the wood as an onlooker can be heard saying they can see a tear in the pooch’s eye.
The video has been widely shared on social media and netizen’s were heartbroken by the scene, such as ‘Carol Elizabeth Jauregui Castillo’ who commented: “They live every joy and every sadness with us… so loyal…so sad.”
While ‘Paula Marquez’ added: “The pain the loyal animal feels for his deceased owner is so sad.”
And ‘Angel Paredes Tarazona’ added: “I think it’s bad to show them their dead owners as afterwards they suffer.”
The dog’s owner has not been named in reports and it is unclear if they died. It is unclear who will now look after the dog.
