Cops Seize Armoured Monster Truck After Careless Cartel Member Leaves Gun Lying Around

The Mexican police have seized an armoured ‘monster’ truck, four vehicles and firearms from a deadly cartel after a careless member left a gun lying around for patrolling cops to see.

The careless cartel member left the gun on full view outside a warehouse on farmland in the municipality of Tuxpan in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

According to the news site Infobae, the armoured vehicle and weapons belonged to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

Police officers patrolling the main road between Guadalajara and Colima noticed the gun and obtained a search warrant from the state prosecutor’s office.

Inside the building, the police found five vehicles including an armoured vehicle known locally as a ‘monster’ truck and used by cartels in battles with the police and rival gangs, according to Infobae.

Officers also found several firearms, including a gold-plated rifle, as well as ammunition.

The property remains under police control as the investigation continues.

In October 2020, the police in Tamaulipas State found six vehicles with over 1,700 rounds, 84 gun cartridges, a cylindrical explosive device and tactical gear such as bulletproof vests, helmets, a large metal chain and a spike strip used to puncture cars.
