This is the moment a police officer appears to use a truncheon to knock an allegedly aggressive dog to the ground and then choke it by standing on its neck.
The incident took place in the neighbourhood of Olarte in the central Colombian capital Bogota and the footage shows one officer appearing to hit the dog with his truncheon.

The owner called the cops after the the pit bull mauled another dog in the neighbourhood.
It is unclear whether he asked the officers to kill the animal, but he reportedly assisted in its death and can be seen helping the officers to pin the dog down to choke it.
The owner, who was not named, told local media that he adopted the pit bull several months ago, but it started to behave aggressively.

Local media said the dog was beaten and then suffocated to death prompting the Animal Protection Institute to slam the dog’s death and call on Colombian authorities to punish the officers involved.
The local police issued a statement saying: “This kind of procedure does not follow protocols established by the police.”
The two officers are currently being investigated over the matter. It is unclear whether they have been suspended as the probe continues.
