Captain Sean Thomas, 30, was found dead after he went missing in an avalanche in Riffelberg, Switzerland, on 1st April, which was Easter Monday.

The avalanche swept four people away and three bodies had already been found.

Now it has been announced that the body of Captain Thomas was found by a police officer who was out hiking on Friday, 10th May.

The officer from the Valais cantonal police went on a hike on Riffelberg in his free time when he came across the lifeless body of the Canadian soldier, located near where the avalanche had taken place.
