This is the moment a bored MP is filmed playing the ‘Candy Crush’ game on her mobile phone in the middle of a parliamentary session.
Nelly Maceda Carrera, a member of a parliament from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party in Mexico, was seemingly caught playing the mobile phone game whilst she was attending a session discussing the expansion of the Law of Custody.

In the video, Carrera can be seen staring at her phone and playing a game which local media report is the popular ‘Candy Crush’ application.
The session the scene was recorded in was a discussion of increasing the catalogue of crimes in the Law of Custody which deserve informal custody.
Carrera is a federal deputy of the coalition ‘Juntos Haremos Historia’ (‘Together We Will Make History’).
She has not released a statement to explain the situation but posted a message on her social media page reading: “I have failed again and again in my life, that is why I have achieved success.”
Netizen ‘Hector Gallardo’ commented: “You voted for that rubbish?”
And ‘Hernandez Anatolio’ added: “She did not have a childhood. But that is how most of the Morena party are.”
